Day 1 of the 8 day Lemosho route starts in the middle of a rain forest. Wild vegetation, diverse flora and fauna takes your breath away. Perfect for lovers of nature. Lots of monkeys welcome you to the trip of a lifetime.
After a well-deserved sleep at Big Tree Camp and a typical Tanzanian breakfast you are off toe Shira ridge. As you leave the rain forest behind you enter the moorland.
More and more moorland. You hike across the Shira plateau, through Simba Camp and today there is a special treat. To acclimatize you will be taken to Shira Cathedral where you will have lunch, accompanied by a lot of vultures and other birds.
Day 4 of the 8 Day Lemosho Route is one that excites you. This day you will make your approach to the massive Barranco wall. You will have the afternoon to figure out how you will climb that thing. Believe us, it is so cool!
Today you climb the Barranco wall. Take every step very carefully and pay close attention to the ones before you. Once you reach the top you will have a lunch with one of the most spectacular views ever! Admire Mount Meru and the amazing African plains.
Day 6 is about crossing Barafu Ridge. We had rain and a lot of wind, so be prepared to get wet. Early dinner and sleep, because you are one evening away from the final ascend.
Today is the day. Wake up before midnight, put your head torch on and climb upwards. In the middle of the night you will follow the footsteps of your guide carefully. Hurry a little bit, because you want to be there when the sun rises. This is it!
